What Isquadriderm Good For

Sweden and the end

We started the morning of Friday the 20th, our destination is Sarna, a little town of Sweden is surrounded by nature and parks. Sarna
Why? We decided to make a stop in these parts because an Italian couple living here: the husband is a professional photographer ( Vitantonio Dell'Orto ) and his wife manages the hostel to stay. John had already met them the year before and wanted to go to visit them, so we decided to spend the last days there, before leaving for the return.
We are traveling on the road just when we find some reindeer breeding. We stopped the car and take the opportunity to do some shots, there are so many and also later on the way they meet several.

mid-morning and arrive at the hostel there is a slight pioggierella, with mostly cloudy skies
arrange the things in our room and we go shopping at the mini market, then we meet at the home of Vito, which is busy with the publication of his second photo book, a greeting and a chat. When we go out
are about 15 and going to see some waterfalls that we had spoken just before Vito, they also write the directions to get there. We
some photos and then go back to the hostel.
At about 18:30 we're in the car and travel at good speed on my side when I see an animal that runs parallel us, a couple of feet beyond the edge of the road. It 'a wild moose! John nails, prepare the cars and we reverse. The specimen is a young and not run away quickly, so we have time to try to make some pictures. Unfortunately, it is inside a thick forest and a sea of \u200b\u200blogs prevents us to make some decent photo, even though we were neighbors. The low light affects the scene, and shortly after the elk began to depart. We know it's useless, but still try to get out of the car and approach: time to make two passes over the edge of the road and the animal it "welcomes" and is gone. Let's go back in the car and leave again, after a single minute of the first elk we cut the road Stash and the other side!
In the following days we will try even the moose, but no luck, this will be the only sighting.

Once we find the hostel are not alone and when we get the kitchen we meet another group of Italians who stay there.

The next morning we go to visit the national park FulufjÀllets, the weather is still quite gloomy, but seems to be starting to clear.
arrival at the main waterfall a few shots we recall, with great difficulty given by the water vapor that the dirty lens, then waits for the dipper.
We should not wait that long: After about ten minutes we spot the that goes back along the stream. It is not frightened by our presence and does not flee even when I try to approach the wooden bridge crossing over the chasing on the slippery rocks, we see that is accustomed to human presence (nests in these parts for some years) and continues its ascent careless, between volleys of shots that we waste on him.
the end walks away towards the waterfall, and we, after a myriad of photos, we are satisfied and go back to the car.

In the evening we do a pizza with the group of Italians known the day before, as the morning start to go home and pull out late chatting in the garden.

the morning we wake up early for sunrise, but when we leave the hostel in the sky we see that already starting to color the clouds first, then give up the location we had in mind, too far, and we rush on a bank near Sarna of the church.
The place is nice and the situation in the sky deserves, but I struggle to find a decent foreground and because of this "waste" some of the best moments with compositions very convincing, but all in all it was a dawn satisfactory.

When the situation gets less interesting in the sky, we start to climb to the top of a hill where normally graze reindeer for some photos with the first rays of light. During the tour the beautiful
situations abound, including golden mist, warm lighting and grazing, and so on, but pull straight to your destination.
arrived, they found the reindeer that graze peacefully, but the area is still in shadow, then we do some shots and then wait.

Slowly the light began to peep and can finally take pictures in ideal conditions.
out of the car and slowly we approach the reindeer, that sometimes we are setting and force us to stop, but still managed not to scare you and plenty of pictures by a great distance.

Once "satisfied" with photos, we go back to the hostel and go back to sleep.

When I wake up is past noon and I start to cook, then I take the laptop and about the pictures in the morning.
At 15 past, John finally wakes up. We relax and begin to fix our things, then we go out for a short visit to a nearby waterfall (which in these places is a very relative concept). The place is nice and with the right conditions could take good pictures, do the usual steps of memory and then go back to the car.
We opt for a ride in search of moose, but it proved fruitless and now when the light begins to fall, back to housing.
In the evening we make a great supper, trying to finish all the food we have left, then pass from Vito to say hello.
We got in his bed early because the next day we have to start as soon as possible, and before us there are more than 24 hours to drive from spun.

When we are traveling 6.
Shortly after we stopped for a last souvenir photos of this trip, as the first rays of sun paint the scene, including fog and an expanse of trees.

The rest of the trip is a real torture as expected: the first 6 hours of driving passing after all, but when John gives me the change already the fatigue was beginning to be felt strongly. In fact, after a lousy lunch of sandwiches with garlic (the garlic sauce was not the sandwiches, but rather was just the garlic bread to be ... be careful what you take in the mini market, both in Norway and in Sweden I happened to get me in the foot, ask for confirmation to John!), I fall asleep right away.

When I wake up we are close to Malmo, where we cross a huge bridge (the first leg we had the ferry) and arrive in Denmark. The weather is bad and at some point it is raining really hard, but when we get to the ferry that will take us to Germany, the sky is open, and while we're on the ship we see a beautiful sunset, which will become spectacular when you get off the machine and resumed the road, with some very big clouds that are dyed a deep purple totally.

I still have a couple of hours to rest, but I can not close my eyes and I know that this will weigh further on.
Around 22 we give the change and start the toughest part of the journey: the first few hours go quietly, but then the sleep begins to bite, and after 3 hours that I have to stop driving 10 minutes in a parking area to give me a flushed face and try to help me wake up.
are in place for an hour, then the fatigue started to feel again. I'm holding the last two hours, but they seem like an eternity and travel on a road without having to totally straight doing nothing but hold the steering wheel makes it heavier.
Eventually we stop to refuel, and finally my turn to drive is finished off again when I put the earplugs and collapse like a stone.

When I woke up in Switzerland we are now near the border with Italy, and then nearly arrived at the home of John.
Once we are here to download our stuff while we wait for the handset to finish burn the DVD with all my photos, then we say goodbye, I take my car and I still expect plenty of driving an hour and a half to get home, the adventure is over.

Conclusion

Undoubtedly, this was a wonderful holiday for me, a good mix of holidays, photography, experience and adventure.
Norway is a very beautiful and diverse place in terms of landscapes and climatic conditions we have found that I was positively surprised, photographically speaking, 60% of the time, at dawn or dusk were made of good situations.
Turn it can be expensive, especially on the coast and especially if they do not mind the expense, but saving travel is not impossible: I've gotten myself spending a little over 700 euro for the whole trip (which lasted 15 days), but I could save even more if we went in the tent and I kept off the sweets! :)
