Boro S / S 2011
online last shots of the collection S / S 2011 by Antonio Diaconal for Boro.
"Boro" stands for talcum powder - the magical white powder in the '60s by misused Soul Boys, scattered on the dancefloor to slide better on the notes -
This brand and all the concepts that come up in 2008 by the impulse of creative and entrepreneurial capacities of Antonio Fulvio Sorbino, all production is strictly Made in Italy. L 'idea is that of aesthetic language based on the simplicity of high impact and great looking style. Today Scarlett and Valeria will talk with Anthony about the new collection:
After the previous collection in which work is revisiting the image of characters of the cult television pop vein of the late 80 ', you're back to the spontaneous and immediate illustration of the first collections, why?
Well you know ... it's a quite unconscious process but in the natural background. Changing the inspiration, concepts, my curiosity, the subjects that fascinate me ... let's say the "external energy" that take you to evolve. But at the same time, the language that expresses these stimuli in an unconscious is always the same: a line, a photograph, musical inspiration ... I tend to translate into graphics for clothing probably by instinct!
The new S / S to whom?
spring summer 2011 collection is divided into three series: basic, space dj's series and series. The basic is linked to my origins: wild graphics, colored. The first approach I had when you started the project, part of which has remained unchanged.
The dj's series instead is a sort of remix aesthetic: translating the language BORO suggestions of some members of the underground club culture of a world to which they are linked in a visceral.
The series plays with space photographs, focusing on the mysteries, spiritual, or scary, space, partly in anticipation of the new concept and the new mood chart that you will be 'the basis for future collections.
If I have to tell you the truth may sound strange but it is not easy for me to imagine who will wear these clothes then perhaps precisely because, as I said the creative process for me is something very instinctive, for no reason related to terms as target marketing.
Certainly there is a lot more research and less directly in this concept and this will probably rise a bit 'average age of those who can accept this kind of graphics ... and the kind of subculture that generated .
The fact that the t-shirt is a unisex head is an advantage or a limit?
The denominations of the tees that I have chosen this year are new to me and definitely unisex: beside the traditional tee, there will be a cut and another cut off his sleeve with a bat.
In fact even in this case it was a choice so it came by accident, I did try a model with a friend and I noticed that ... even if he could go off!
And as for being unisex ... I do not think is a limit, in fact it's all in how a garment is worn the same t-shirt ... may appear to be super men and women that much of this versatility own boss is a conscious choice!
Even reading your bio that comes out is a picture of total artist: illustrator, graphic designer and DJ. In the shots of the new collection there are references to music, DJs, record labels, etc ... tell us how these collaborations are born and what place has the music in your creative process.
Well first "artist" is a term that I think, very modestly, a little part of me, although I must admit that is my one ambition ... but the maturation process to be creative ... I think still very long for me.
In my universe, however, the music is certainly central, fundamental and creative stage in the related research.
And this not only because it often plays the role of DJ, but because the music has a great feature that is frightening, to be a container of explosive events, ways of being, to do, think, speak , to approach the world ... ethical and aesthetic that I inevitably bounce and absorb.
So it happens that on the one hand this will become an inspiration unconscious, the other is a fertile ground for comparison between languages \u200b\u200band codes such as with ... the DJ series of this collection.
