Basement Jaxx is a British musical duo made up of London DJs and beatmakers Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe. The Basement Jaxx are still at the top of the international music scene for their electronic music with a style that draws intelligently balance and hip hop dance and more genuine. Both are close to the environment around music in 1994 playing at parties and illegal raves parties in Brixton, south London. In this period the production studio the duo is the chamber Ratcliffe: the songs here carry Fly Life mix of house music and dancehall, and Samba Magic , clearly inspired by exotic.
Their style is coming to the melting 'pot of genres such as reggae, rap, funk, garage rock and disco, which are particularly strong in the London underworld. This style, called garage punk, has been increasingly successful at the local level to leave the confines of London and spread throughout the English. In 1998, the success achieved to increase bearing duo signed a contract with XL Records, which they share with the group of Prodigy. Success allows the two to be labeled as the creators of a new dance music. In July 2001, sees the light Rooty album that includes single Where's Your Head At Romeo and : the first presents acid contamination, the second refers to the old-style musical in India.
